A native Southern Californian, Paul has been involved in the legal community since 1983. With a substantial trial and appellate practice, the focus of his legal representation has been in civil defense.
He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Federal District Courts of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In addition to significant jury trial experience in the State courts, and the California Courts of Appeal, Paul has served as an arbitrator for Los Angeles Superior Court, as well as a Judge Pro Tem and mediator.
A member of the American Bar Association, and its Dispute Resolution and TIPS sections, Paul also maintains membership in the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), and the litigation management section of the California State Bar. He is active in the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association.
Paul has broad business experience outside the legal profession, and served as a Claims Counsel and Assistant Vice President for Transamerica Insurance Group. He has served as President of a Community Association in San Luis Obispo County, and on boards of directors, including a non-profit. Recently, he was an adjunct faculty member for a Southern California law school.
